RIBs gather Easdale Sound.
0930 Depart Easdale for Tobermory arriving circa 1100
Coffee etc. then decision time. There is both petrol and diesel at Tobermory. Bring cans.
ERR needs to respect any requests or recommendations not to land on islands due to avian flu. Many islands closed to visitors mid to end June. It may be in the event’s best interest not to take a load of RIBs to some of the obvious bird colonies.
The options if the weather is good
Favoured option
Cairns of Coll. A wonderful destination with secluded beaches. BBQ time etc. Those wishing a more formal stop then Arinagour is nearby.
Should landing be an issue due to restrictions, head north around Ardnamurchan. Some may just wish to tie up and visit the lighthouse whilst others head off to the Isles of Muck and Eigg
Poor weather alternative isfrom Tobermory, head up Loch Sunart towards Glenborrowdale.
Sunday 30th April
HW Oban 1605 2.9m
1015 Piper Freddie Pullar at Ellenabeich Pier
1030 Depart Easdale for Belnahua – an abandoned slate island south of Easdale. Land – walk around. Cullipool for coffee/lunch
As usual the aim is to return Easdale reasonably early for those who need to recover their boats and head home. Others may wish to press on and make a full day of it.
